NHSU Consultation - our key messages
Key messages for the consultation:
1. Consultation: The Government is launching a consultation about its
plans to establish a new kind of university (NHSU).
2. Modernising health: NHSU is designed to support the modernisation of
the health service, helping to create a genuine learning organisation.
3. Modernising learning: NHSU will pioneer new ways of learning and
wider access to learning.
4. Benefits for patients: NHSU will help deliver a better service to
patients.
5. Benefits for staff: NHSU will help to unlock the full potential of
staff, providing motivation and new career opportunities.
6. Access for all: NHSU is designed for everyone ? all 1.2m staff within
the health service, from cleaners to consultants, plus patients, carers and
volunteers.
7. Partnership: NHSU is committed to working in close partnership with
leaders, managers, staff and with other organisations.
Early parts of the NHSU will include Health Informatics, Communications
skills, Triage, Management skills

Three different versions of the document have been produced: The full
development plan (20,000 copies); an Executive Summary (50,000 copies); and
a staff leaflet (20,000 copies). These are being distributed as from today
