I have been asked to check out whether "Slendertone" would be beneficial to
MND patients.
I checked their website where the manufacturer claims clinical proof via two
trials. The second gives me almost no reference to go on but the first talks
about trial results and I have traced the reference to 3 bona fide
researchers and abstracts from a conference. Reference below. I have checked
the journal online and cannot find it. Firstly are all abstracts included in
online versions? Secondly if the abstract was not then published at all or
as a full clinical paper can they really claim proof? I can find no further
evidence in Sportdiscus or Medline. The keywords would be muscle
strength/neuromuscular electrical stimulation/CSITM stimulation/Slendertone.
Authors : Anonymous in Medline but Slendertone website gives the authors as
Parisi, P, Pigozzi F and Prinzi G
