The Dutch Universities already make use of this option (and Ariel transmissions were in use for some longer time already).
I just read the license agreement of Blackwell Science Publishers and my understanding is that they allow - within the framework of authorized use and users - to have temporary electronic copies for transmission purpose, as long as the electronics are not stored.
