MANAGING PART-TIME AND CONTRACT STAFF
19 February 2003, London
According to the work foundation (formally the Industrial Society) flexible working in its many forms can be of considerable benefit to both organisations and individuals.
However, there are unique challenges for those who manage teams that include part-time and contract staff, and alternative approaches to management, communication and motivation can be invaluable.
BENEFITS FROM ATTENDING
This practical one-day workshop will explore the challenges that employing of part-time and contract staff can bring. It will look at the different options for flexible work, managing and motivating part-time and contract staff, balancing the needs of staff and service, and dealing with other specific and sensitive issues.

* explored the different options for flexible work: their advantages and limitations
* identified key management actions which will help to balance the needs of the service and the staff
* discussed practical ways to address specific and sensitive issues
