Hi folks,
In my quest for foam cubes that transform into dinosaurs (the things a
librarian has to do in the name of marketing!) I contacted lis-link to
pick the collective brains of the Library world.
Sadly, I have still not tracked down my dinosaurs (does anyone out there
know where they come from?!) but I have received details of loads of
other useful sources for those interested in freebies, gifts and
promotional tools.
Here –in no particular order- are the suppliers/sources mentioned to me:
Promotions and Incentives -published by Haymarket Business
Publications (Free subs should be available from 020 8606 7501)
- great for finding out about campaigns and lists companies who will
produce anything from kites, inflatables, pens, bags, cufflinks, mugs
etc.
-Web presence: http://www.brandrepublic.com/shop/subscript.cfm
Boomerang -offer a postcard service (as seen in cinema foyers, student
unions etc). The company provide a rather fetching display rack and keep
it stocked with postcards featuring anything from films, music, food,
newspapers etc. Students love them. For your troubles you get free
cards (minimum run of 5000) of your own design.
-Web presence: http://www.boomerangmedia.co.uk/adverti2.htm
Youth -similar concept to Boomerang. Will provide free bookmarks,
plastic bags etc- but the other side features a corporate advert. Offers
advertising and income generation opportunities.
-Web presence: http://www.youth-unlimited.com
Companies producing general promotional materials include:
Astrix promotions –contact: [log in to unmask]
-Web presence: www.astrix.ie
Partridge Peartree -a company in Northern Ireland for promoting library
services
-contacts: tel: 028 71860090; fax: 028 71860092;
-Web presence: www.partridge-peartree.com
EMC advertising gifts
-Web presence: www.EMCadgifts.co.uk
Save a cup -for recycled goods one could use as promotional items
-Web presence: http://www.save-a-cup.co.uk
Finally, for an excellent gateway to a whole host of relevant promo
companies go to http://www.promotionalmerchandise.org.uk/index.htm
A big thank you (again) to all those colleagues who contacted me and to
those who didn’t: some of you might find these useful. Happy hunting!
