MIDDLE MANAGEMENT SKILLS
23 & 24 April, London
A two-day practical workshop covering the main areas of management relevant
to library and information work, with emphasis on managing the work of
others.
BENEFITS FROM ATTENDING:
This workshop will help you to:
* identify your strengths for teamwork and leadership, and broaden your
understanding of group and team dynamics
* enhance your practical management skills: conflict management and
interpersonal skills
* share ideas and experiences with others at a similar level.
All sessions require a high level of involvement and participation. You
will be asked to complete a questionnaire and to bring it with you to the
course.
WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM ATTENDING?
Participants need at least four years of post-qualification experience and
to be in a job which includes the management of other people's work. It
would be helpful to have attended the Introduction to Management Skills
course, or to have recently participated in a programme that covered
management skills, including motivation.
WORKSHOP LEADER
Sheila Ritchie
Sheila is a consultant in the behavioural sciences applied to work. A
chartered librarian, she works in the public and private sectors in the UK
