Communities and information professionals

Alexandra Palace, London.
As part of the leading Knowledge Management conference and exhibition,
KMEurope, CILIP have organised a series of FREE PRESENTATIONS on the theme
of communities and information professionals.
Communities of practice and other informal social networks within and across
institutions could be key to knowledge creation and organisational learning.
Some writers have envisaged a role for information professionals and
librarians in such communities either using their professional skills to
preserve and access what has been learned in the past or to recruit members
and connect different communities. In this programme of talks expert
speakers present views and case studies from different library and
information sectors.
