CONSULTATION ON AGREEMENT FOR BRITANNICA ONLINE
The JISC invites expressions of interest for a proposed agreement for
Britannica Online.
Encyclopędia Britannica is acknowledged as perhaps the finest single source
of reference in the world. The online version includes the complete
encyclopędia, with more than 72,000 articles, over 10,000 illustrations,
including photographs, drawings, maps, and flags; and more than 75,000
definitions - including pronunciation guides and word histories from
Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary and the Britannica Book of the
Year. In addition, the JISC offer also includes Britannica Students
Encyclopaedia, which contains over 38,000 articles and 4,000 images,
illustrations, maps and flags. You can also use Britannica Online for
advanced search and navigation capabilities and the power of the Internet
makes Encyclopędia Britannica Online an invaluable reference and research
tool. Britannica Online is far more effective than general Internet
research and uses an interface similar to most popular Web browsers, making
navigation easy for users. It is available for unlimited use and can be
accessed remotely 24 hours a day. Take an online tour at
