The School of Library, Archive and Information Studies at UCL invites
applications for a part-time temporary lectureship in Library and
Information Studies. The post is available from 23 September 2002 until 31
March 2003
The person appointed will participate in the teaching of the MA in Library
and Information Studies in the area of Collection Management and
Preservation. This covers collection development and preservation policies;
selection and acquisition; security; use and users; serials, inter-library
lending and resource-sharing. S/he will also contribute to other aspects of
the programme. Research strengths within the School include knowledge
organization, preservation, electronic records management, digital
resources in the humanities and XML and digital libraries.
The successful candidate will have a postgraduate qualification in library
and information studies and substantial professional work experience
involving collection management.
The lectureship is offered on a part-time basis on lecturer A/B scale with
a salary of up to the equivalent of £32,537 full-time. A London allowance
of £2,134 (full-time equivalent) is also payable.
