"Let's be RealIStic: Info skills for the real world"

Thomas Danby College, Leeds
The JISC Regional Support Centre for Yorkshire & Humber (RSC-YH) and
UC&R Yorkshire and Humberside Region, are pleased to announce their
first collaborative event: 'Let's be realIStic: Info skills for the
real world'. The event will be held at Thomas Danby College in Leeds
and is aimed at LRC and Library staff in FE and HE.
The event will consist of presentations by speakers from the Resource
Discovery Network (RDN), the Virtual Training Suite internet tutorials
and the Big Blue Info Skills project. There will also be a number of
workshops on offer where speakers will share their experiences of info
skills delivery in their institutions.
Key topics will include:
*how IS training can be offered where limited resources are
available;
*how to make the most of, and how to create online tutorials and
quizzes
*work-based assignments
