I thought that this would be relevant to all in the UK who have looked at
or are currently considering TDNet. I'm sure that Dan will be happy to
field enquiries from those who have a serious interest in further
information.
Boise State University is running just over 15,000 print, microform and
electronic titles on TDNet, from a total TDNet database of over 32,000
titles.

Subject: Boise State TDNet
Boise State opened up TDNet to staff this past Tuesday. It is now
available to patrons for the start of the spring semester on Monday. It is
linked from the home page at http://library.boisestate.edu/
At Boise State the TDNet service is designed to include ALL journals,
whether print, microform, electronic by subscription, or electronic through
databases/aggregators. This may be the first TDNet implementation to
include all dead titles in print or microform, and not just active titles.
In addition, it is designed to include only the titles for which full text
is available in one form or another and to exclude titles for which only
indexing or abstracting is available. We use Jake or Ulrich's to provide
the information regarding indexing.
We may be the second site in the USA to go live, after York College.
There is still some cleaning up and correcting of various types going on,
but the vast majority of the information is correct and complete. The
service is currently running from TDNet's US server, but will probably be
moved to a library server in the next several months.
We welcome comments, criticisms, and corrections that anyone may have. If
we can be of any assistance to others who are moving into TDNet, we'll try
to help however we can.
Profuse thanks to the many in our library and at TDNet who have worked long
and hard to get us ready to provide this new service to our users around
the world. All Boise State users, who include many distant students around
the world, now have access to all of these resources by simply inputting
their authentication information.
Happy 2002 to all,
dan, on behalf of Peggy, Jill, Kai, and the rest of us at Boise State
