We use a proxy server which is part of our library computer system
(INNOPAC) and similar problems have been reported mainly by libraries in
the US where there are many remote users with AOL.
We have been telling AOL users to download and use Netscape but this can
take a very long time via a modem. We sometimes send free CDs with
Netscape
from covers of computer magazines to users with this problem. Some US
libraries are known to stock Netscape CDs to give/sell/lend to users who
need them.
