You say this like it's the first time you've heard it? Did you not realise
this until now? It's always been the case!

Which is exactly why the new body will require some evidence of CPD if one
wishes to continue to call oneself Chartered. (n.b. In the past one had to
merely not die in order to become Chartered!). We had a big discussion about
whether one should have to show evidence of continuing CPD in order to stay
Chartered in May last year (search archives for "revalidation" thread) - Andy
from what you say about it being very easy to Charter I presume therefore you're
in favour of required revalidation? i.e. being more difficult to obtain/keep
will make it more valued?

Yes I'm sure Susan's response will be interesting but please remember that I set
this list up for Charter candidates to discuss Chartering issues, presuming that
as we are all intending to Charter we do think it has some value! I am all in
favour of healthy debate (again, see last year's "revalidation" messages!) but I
don't want the help that LA staff have frequently offered on this list to be
thrown back at them; it's about collaboration not confrontation!
