         26th ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL ACM SIGIR CONFERENCE         RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT IN INFORMATION RETRIEVAL                        www.sigir2003.org                    July 28 to August 1, 2003                          Toronto, Canada                 ACM SIGIR 2003: Mentoring Program                        Deadline Oct. 31 Authors who have not previously had a full length paper accepted for an ACM SIGIR (Special Interest Group in Information Retrieval) Conference, and who are unsure about how to best prepare a paper for the SIGIR audience, are invited to participate in the conference Mentoring Program. The goal of this program is to broaden participation in the 2003 SIGIR Conference, which will take place in Toronto July 28 to August 1, 2003. (http://www.sigir2003.org/). Authors participating in the mentoring program will be paired with an experienced SIGIR author well in advance of the submission date. The mentors will assist authors with their submissions to the conference by reviewing a draft and providing feedback. Authors wishing to participate in the mentoring program should prepare a draft paper or extended abstract by October 31, 2002. Research papers are not to exceed 5000 words, must contain original, previously unpublished work, and are not to be under review by other conferences or journals. Posters and demonstrations offer researchers an opportunity to present late-breaking results, significant work in progress, or original research that is best communicated in an interactive or graphical format.
