Holistic Approach to Student Support and Guidance
10th & 11th June 2003, Call for Papers
University of Central Lancashire
The Advisory and Counselling Centre, Student Services at the University of Central Lancashire is pleased to announce that after the success of the last conference in 2002 they are now looking at re-running the conference and would like to use this opportunity to gauge the level of interest in the conference and to ask for a submission of papers.
The conference will focus once again on the holistic approach to Student Support within the student environment. The key objective is sharing of expertise so contributions are sought from other practitioners. We welcome suggestions for fifteen-minute workshop presentations highlighting best practice in a range of areas including:
International students Widening participation
Traditional students Foundation degrees
Non-traditional students Student employability
Mature students Student debt/finance
Minority ethnic groups Web based communication
Mental health issues Student mentoring
This conference is to encompass all areas of Student Support.
A brief typed précis of the intended workshop should be submitted on a single side of A4 (by e-mail or on disc). A covering sheet should also be provided giving full details of all co-presenters/contributors. It should also include details of a single nominated contact including name, title, organisation, address, telephone, fax and e-mail. My contact e-mail address is given below. In order to plan the programme, these details should be provided by 3rd March 2003 at the latest. Submission will be acknowledged after this date and indication of acceptance given during April 2003.
Informal suggestions on content, speakers and presenters will also be welcome.
