HEAD OF FORTH VALLEY GIS

Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling Councils pool together resources for
the provision of in-house corporate GIS services. Known as Forth Valley
GIS, this Unit also provides GIS services to other public sector agencies.
Based in Stirling, we are widely acknowledged as a “centre of excellence”
in GIS service delivery and are looking to recruit a Head of Forth Valley
GIS to take us forward in the years ahead.
This senior management role is exceptionally demanding and requires the
post holder to be able to provide high standards of management and
leadership skills. You should be educated to degree level and should be
highly motivated, pro-active, able to work well under pressure and have
first class interpersonal, time-management and project management skills.
You will be working in an environment that has a customer-led focus with an
emphasis on quality service delivery. You will be responsible for
preparing and implementing GIS strategies and business plans for the three
Councils as well as other FVGIS customers. You must have an in-depth
awareness of current issues confronting local authorities in particular and
the public-sector in general. You should understand the external GIS
market and be able to anticipate external opportunities for Forth Valley
GIS.
You will report to a Joint Management Group comprising representatives from
the three Councils.
