Call for Papers
American Academy of Religion, the annual meeting in Toronto, Canada, Nov.
23-26,2002.
For a paper session on "Women, Death and the Afterlife in Buddhism"
For those who are interested in presenting, we would like to receive a short
proposal(less than 2 pages) and an abstract (150 words) by e-mail by Feb.
26. Let me know your interest anyway beforehand. This session (panel) is
for those who are interested in women's issues in relation to death and the
afterlife - such as funerals, nirvana, hell, heaven, bodily mutilation,
suicide etc. in Buddhist texts and/or practices in any Buddhist traditions.
If your paper does not quite fit in with the above provisional session
title, but relates to Women's issues in Buddhism in general, please let me
know.
