Non-Tenure Track Appointment in the Institute for Human Security
The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, seeks to hire a
non-tenure-track scholar at the assistant or associate professor level to
work under the auspices of the Institute for Human Security.
The Institute was created to provide cutting-edge interdisciplinary
education and research at the intersection of humanitarianism, development,
human rights, and conflict resolution; additional information may be found
at the Institute's website, http://fletcher.tufts.edu/humansecurity. The
position will be a term appointment for up to three years and includes both
teaching and research components. The teaching load will be less than that
of most full-time faculty members, and the successful candidate should have
a proven capacity to engage in scholarly research and writing at the
intersection of human rights, development, and/or humanitarian assistance.
The ideal candidate should also possess operational experience in the same
area. A Ph.D., J.D., or equivalent advanced degree is required.
The Fletcher School is committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty
and encourages applications from women and members of other underrepresented
groups. Review of applications will begin December 1, 2002. Interested
candidates should send a cover letter, curriculum vitae, the names of three
references, and any supporting materials to:
