Justice and the rule of law in refugee camps
UNHCR's Evaluation and Policy Analysis Unit (EPAU) would like to hear from
anyone who has undertaken research on the issue of justice and the rule of
law in refugee camps. What mechanisms are used to maintain the rule of law
in refugee camps? What legal regimes are used to administer justice amongst
refugees? To what extent do refugee populations make use of indigenous legal
and penal systems? Are those systems recognized and supported by the host
government and by humanitarian agencies? To what extent do those systems
conform to international human rights standards?
EPAU would like to publish a paper on such issues in its working paper
series 'New issues in refugee research'. Please contact <[log in to unmask]>
if you have undertaken research in this area.
