REFUGEE RESOURCE: A small, dynamic voluntary organisation is seeking
proactive, sensitive and skilled communicators for three recently created
posts based in Oxford.
YOUTH COUNSELLOR
To provide a culturally appropriate and sensitive counselling service to
young refugees and asylum seekers aged between 12-25 within the 'Woodpath'
partnership project. This project is aimed at empowering and facilitating
their transition to independence and adulthood, and their integration into
existing communities in Oxfordshire.
The person appointed is likely to be a qualified counsellor or therapist
with experience of refugee mental health issues and working with young
people. They need to be able to work cross-culturally.
A full time post until December 2004
Salary £19,000 - £21,000
This project is funded by the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.
EMPLOYMENT ADVISOR
To arrange and monitor work placements for refugees and asylum seekers on a
work preparation course; to provide job search advice to callers and
general support to the 'Access First' Training and Employment partnership
project.
The ideal candidate will be confident and adaptable with good organisational
skills and preferably with experience of the employment and training sector.
Part time post (14 hours pw until December 2003)
Salary £17,000 - £19,000 pa pro rata
This post is funded by the Government's Single Regeneration Budget and
European Social Fund.
ADMINISTRATOR/BOOK-KEEPER
To support the organisation's projects in training, employment and mental
health, including enquiries and correspondence, organising meetings,
maintaining database and book-keeping.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a friendly, busy team, and
will have good IT and word-processing skills.
Part-time post (21 - 28 hours pw until December 2003 [extendable])
Salary £13,000 - 15,000 pa pro rata
