Sorry, some of us are auricularly challenged, would get nauseous with fake reality, and throw up in the helmet.
Cheers,

Hello folks,
Just for interest I thought I'd pass on details of an article in this months
(April 2002) Scientific American magazine, which includes details of
projects undertaken at Columbia University into 'Augmented Reality' - an
approach that uses head-up displays to superimpose information about
buildings etc on to the visual field of an observer. By combining this with
a GPS to locate the user precisely, the researchers have been able to set up
'documentaries' which display information about historic buildings on their
campus to the user as they wander around. Reconstructions of the previous
appearance of the buildings (or those no longer there) can also be
displayed, superimposed on what the viewer is actually looking at. To quote
'The users view of the world and the computer interface become one'.
Sounds like an ideal way to present sites to users (if you can persuade them
to wear the headgear!).
I know its the April issue - but I think its genuine!
