Hello,
A post graduate student I am helping needs some literature on speech prosody and
non-verbal communication in documentaries, particularly television. Her aim is to
explore what informants, interviewees or social actants (to use Bill Nichols'
expression) reveal unintentionally by means of stress and intonation, facial
expressions and bodily gestures. Obviously, as this is a rather specialized
request, studies of this aspect in any non-fiction would be of help.
I would appreciate any ideas that I could pass to this dedicated student who, as
you can see, has the courage to take up the most daunting tasks.
