Hi all
I'm Samantha Heywood. My job title is Head of Corporate Education Programmes for Imperial War Museum and what that means is, I coordinate education policy, programming, and web resources between the five sites of the IWM. Prior to this I worked on the project to develop IWM North (opening on 5 July 2002 in Trafford Manchester - make a note in your diaries!) and at the Cabinet War Rooms as Education Officer, and before that, as a History teacher at a sixth form college, and before that, as a civil servant in an office that - incredibly - had NO computers in it!
I'm joining the list for the following reasons:
to find out more about how to write good learning materials for the web
to learn more about the technical aspects and possibilities for web-based learning
to be able to talk about how to evaluate what learning can take place using web-based resources
to find out more about funding possibilities for creating web materials
to get a better idea of what are reasonable costs for using freelancers/web designers
to learn from other people's experiences!
Although I feel as though I have been trying to produce resources for the web for some time, nothing concrete has resulted so far! Our website is at www.iwm.org.uk for those of you who want to look! And comment?
