> Essays are invited for a collection, tentatively titled "Yellow Peril,
Model Minority or Karate Kid: Critical Perspectives on Asian American and
Asian Diaspora Children's Literature." Contributors may examine Children's
and Young Adult literature coming from the experience of Asians and people
of Asian descent in the United States, Canada, Britain and other Commonwealth
nations. Essays exploring issues of construction of identity, race, biraciality
and multiraciality, hybridity, adoption, assimilation, difference and marginality
are welcome.
> The impact of circumstances of history, such as colonization,
war or immigration policy may also be considered, as well as attempts to
adapt and negotiate art forms and genres such as painting, calligraphy,
illustration, poetry, folk tales and others. Comparative approaches across
ethnicities are also encouraged. Queries are welcome, at any stage of your
