Freelance Co-ordinator required for London Black and Asian History Project
London’s Museums Agency is seeking to appoint a part time freelance liaison
worker to co-ordinate an imaginative, HLF funded project aimed at raising
the popular profile of London’s local history museums within the Black and
Asian communities and at encouraging the widest possible range of Londoners
to consider how their histories could be better reflected in their local
museums’ collections and services.
You will be responsible for co-ordinating input from 12 museums, 12 local
Black or Asian ‘celebrities’ and several specialist professionals. You
should be an efficient administrator and be able to demonstrate experience
of working with Black and/or Asian communities, preferably in London and in
a capacity relevant to culture, history or heritage.
LMA estimates that this contract should involve a maximum of 40 days’ work
over a period of 30 weeks. The Agency is able to offer a maximum of £8000
for this contract.
