The University places high value on its status as a Research
University and, in order to enhance research quality and assist in
the development of a research culture, has established a University
Research Fellowships Programme aimed at attracting dynamic
and promising Researchers on the threshold of an outstanding
academic career. As such the Programme is particularly
appropriate for those who do not already hold a permanent
academic appointment in the University. This is the fifth year of
recruitment to the Programme, with 34 appointments having been

selected specific fields of study for this year's programme; others
invite applications from across the field of research interests.
