FIDJI'2002 International Workshop
on scientiFic engIneering of Distributed Java applIcations
November 28-29, 2002

PURPOSE
This workshop is an international forum for researchers and practitioners
interested in the advances in, and applications of, software engineering
for distributed application development. Concerning the technologies, the
workshop focuses on "Java related" technologies. It is an opportunity to
present and observe the latest research, results, and ideas in these areas.
All papers submitted to this workshop will be peer reviewed by at least
two members of the International Program Committee.
Acceptance will be based primarily on originality and contribution.
The FIDJI'2002 workshop will be an opportunity, for industry to present
past or current projects, for academia to present current research and
development activities in the field of distributed software systems also
concerned by a subset of the topics listed above.
The proceedings of the workshop will be published in the Springer Verlag
Lecture Notes in Computer Sciences Series (LNCS).
LOCATION
FIDJI'2002 will be held in Luxembourg

SUBMISSION OF PAPERS
Submit your paper via our web site at:

All submissions should be in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf), Postscript (.ps), or
MSWord (.doc) format. Authors should follow the instructions on:

The page limit for final papers is ten pages (5 000 words).
The FIDJI'2002 Secretariat must receive your paper by September 23rd, 2002.
Do not send hard copies of your paper.
Please provide four key words to indicate the subject area of your paper.
One of the key words must be taken from the list of topics provided under
Scope.
Include a statement in your cover letter confirming that, if the paper is
accepted, one of the authors will attend the workshop to present it.
Please designate a principal author and provide the full names,
affiliations, addresses, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail addresses
of all authors.
Notification of acceptance will be sent via e-mail on October 15th, 2002.
Registration payments and final manuscripts are due by November 1st, 2002.
Late registration fees or paper submissions will result in the papers
being excluded from the workshop proceedings. Please send final
manuscripts via Web using the same procedure as described above.
The formatting instructions for final manuscripts can be found on the Web
and must be strictly followed.
Proceedings will be available at the conference and a post-workshop book
will be
published in the Springer Verlag Lecture Notes in Computer Sciences Series.
TUTORIALS
Two tutorials will be integrated in the program.
Proposals for half-day tutorials (three hours) should be submitted online
by September 23rd, 2002. Tutorials are to be submitted online via web site.
A tutorial proposal should clearly indicate the topic, background
knowledge expected of the participants, objectives, time allocations for
the major course topics, and the qualifications of the instructor(s).
