Hi Alexander
Try this:
read([unit],'(a)')a_string !where a_string must have sufficient size
to carry a full record.
(I think Malcolm already implied this syntax.)

Gaz

Subject: "/" in string input
Hi,
A rather dumb question:
It seems that:
READ(*,*) a_string
does not accept "/" in the sense that this signals end of input or
something alike. How do I then enter a unix path of unknown length?
Thanks,
Aleksandar
