Dear list members,
This message is by way of introduction (a similar message has appeared on ams-list -
apologies for duplication).
My name is George Kennaway, and I'm an MMus (musicology) student at Leeds
University (also a professional cellist and conductor; my web pages are at
www.knwy.freeserve.co.uk/index.html). As I am employed full-time with Opera North,
I'm studying part-time, with the long-term aim of reversing those proportions.
I've joined this list because my dissertation, to be written next year, will be about the
Lithuanian artist and composer M K Čiurlionis (1875-1911). Later this year I intend to
visit Lithuania to see the museum in Kaunas. I speak reasonably good Russian, but at
the moment no Lithuanian, something I have just started to rectify.
I would be keen to hear from anyone with related interests. In particular, if there is
anyone on the list who knows about the Russian painter Oskar Klever (d. 1975) who
painted in a very similar style to MKC and also used musical titles for his work, I would
be most interested.
Yours
George Kennaway
