been into the Pullman here too. Read them last year with my son. Took him a
while to get into them. Now he laughs when he hears the word 'dust'.
Actually Pullman's working on another book with the bear and the balloonist
and 'dust' set before Lyra's times.
Pullman is an interesting guy. Level-headed and sharp on a whole range of
matters. He openly acknowledges reading section from Paradise Lost as his
key inspiration. It's gonna be interesting to see how Hollywood (as they're
working on it having snapped up the rights to film) deals with his take on
'god' and the church.
Osh and i liked the use of the daemons a LOT.
I wonder about the influence of filmic potentials on contemporary writing.
