Not sure what exactly you mean by a "prove it" mentality, cris, but with all
the bullshit that gets slung around on lists like these, I don't think it's
unreasonable to respond to posts in which unsupported and often serious
allegations are made in hyperbolic terms with a request for some supporting
evidence. No responsible poster would make serious allegations without
having some evidence to back them up, after all. This expectation of one
another's good faith is important to the quality of the dialogue here, and
it need not be reduced to hyperlegalism if posters are simply responsible in
the usual grown-up sense.
