Gary,
We never found a maximum user account ceiling (despite Bb suggesting these
days that LS basic is only a trialing system!): L1 as we know it worked fine
for us - we've had 15000 users for two years, first year about 6000 active,
last year about 8000. Simultaneous login problems depends on your maximum
clients setting - the default used to be 20, but the Bb documentation now
suggests upping it - we are running 1000 at present. I think there's more
techie ways of saying that, but certainly we never experienced real problems
other than the sheer size of machine we bought was woefully inadequate back
in Aug 2000 based on specs then, once we upped the initial spec of the
machine everything has been fine, the specs were upped in Bb documentation
too, so if you base on that you shouldn't find you run out of capacity
unless you have well above what we've run.
cheers,
Kate

Hi all,
Can anyone advise as to the maximum number of users that can be
logged onto a level 1 Blackboard v5 server at any one time (i.e.
simultaneous logins) and what is the figure for the maximum number of
accounts that can exist?
Do these figure change with later versions / other levels of the system?
