Andrew
I've tried this with the NLN learning objects, which are zipped learning
packages containing IMSmanifests (can't remember which version) and had no
success at all. For comparison I looked at the output of an archived and
exported Blackboard course and, although it does produce an IMS manifest, it
also produces what seemed to me to be a set of database files for
Blackboard, indicating the directory structure, file paths and so on. There
seemed to be one of these for each area of the course - Announcements,
Documents, etc. As a result the IMS manifest from the NLN materials was no
use, as it gave no directory structure or file paths. Perhaps this is a
weakness in the particular NLN manifests, but my guess is that though
Blackboard claims to be compliant, it wants these database files as well.
I'd welcome input from anyone who can help - I've put the NLN learning
objects into Blackboard as Learning Units, but I would have liked to import
them as courses.

Subject: IMS Manifest file
Does anyone have any experience of importing an IMSmanifest.xml version 1.0
file into Blackboard 5.5?
I am starting to explore the possibilities of IMS Content Packaging with BB
and can't workout how to go about it. Can anyone share any experience or
point me to some useful information please?
