Hi folks,
Blackboard 5.6. Apache in SSL mode for login, Oracle 8i, all on Redhat
7.2.
Here's the problem - the weekly offline backup of Oracle requires the BB
services (weblogic et. al.) to be shutdown, so i have scripts that are
managing all of this. I assumed that Apache would be ok to leave
running and just restarting the other services would be enough.
Apparantly not, apache wants restarting but expects a passphrase to be
entered for the SSL section, anyone got any elegant solutions?
Additionally, occasionally weblogic does not release it's listening
port, and so on restarting keels over straight away, anyone else
encountered this? Is it just a case of it not shutting down right and i
need to kill -9 with the PID number or what?

The myth that Bill Gates has appeared like a knight in shining armor to
lead all customers out of a mire of technological chaos neatly ignores
the fact that it was he who, by peddling second-rate technology, led
them into it in the first place, and continues to do so today.
