The 'authorities' on various aspects of Black music that I know of are
Howard Rye, Johen Cowley and Andrew Simons (BL); there is a Kensington group
taking testimony re the history of Carnival.

Dear Marika,
My name is Mykaell S Riley, from the centre for black music research, at the
University of Westminster. I am currently in search of any research or
papers or reports relating to the effects of black music in the UK over the
last fifty years. This is part of the ongoing research into the cultural,
social and economic effects of this music on the black and Asian population
and the wider community in general. Many thanks.
Mykaell
