GOTHIC EX/CHANGES 17-20/07/03
The biennial conference of the International Gothic Association will take
place 17-20 July 2003 at Liverpool Hope University College, Liverpool UK.

Papers for the 2003 conference are invited on the theme of Gothic
Ex/changes. Aspects of this theme might include the following: translation;
transmission; transition; transformation; transgression; the Gothicization
of history; the Gothicization of autobiography; oral tradition and urban
legend; forensics and infection. Papers relating to Liverpool's
transatlantic perspective and history will be particularly welcome.
Contributions from disciplines other than literary studies are encouraged,
as are suggestions for panel topics.

interested in convening a panel. Proposals for papers should be sent in the
form of an abstract of approximately 300 words to the same address by 31st
January 2003. Alternatively, abstracts may be sent by 'snail-mail' to:
