THE LANGUAGE(S) OF ROMANTICISM

to be held in Bologna

28 FEBRUARY - 2 MARCH 2003

CALL FOR PAPERS:
We welcome abstracts of 250-300 words for papers of 20 minutes duration. We
will interpret the title of the conference with a good degree of
liberality. We will, for example, welcome papers on topics as various as:

the discourse of romanticism; the discourse of the sublime; the language of
romantic poetry; the language of women's poetry and of theatre in the
romantic period; translating romantic texts; the language of politics in
the romantic period; the language of gender in romantic texts; radical
grammarians and lexicographers

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 15 October 2002


Intending delegates for the above conference might like to know that costs
will be as follows (NB all prices in euros): Conference Fee 60,
concessionary rate for postgraduates 25. (This payment includes the cost of
coffees/teas and lunch buffet.) Accommodation of different types will be
available as follows: 37 for a single and 41 for a double (breakfast not
included); 72 single and 88 double; 88 single and 145 double. There will be
a banquet at a villa on the outskirts of Bologna, the inclusive cost of
food and travel for which is 40. Payments for accommodation and the banquet
should be made by 31 January 2003.

Delegates should know that there are currently some excellent deals
available to Bologna with Lufthansa flying from Manchester and Heathrow
which rival those available from the 'budget' airlines such as  Go and
Ryanair. The latter flies out of Stansted to Forli which some 30 miles from
Bologna.
