I've copied a photo by James Hardin from the Fall 2001 issue of
the Folklife Center News of the Library of Congress, and put it
on my website. My copy isn't very good, but the two women holding
dictaphone cylinders from the James Madison Carpenter Collection
are at least recognizable. They are Pam Bishop of the Univ. of
Sheffield, and Jennifer Cutting of the Library of Congress, and are
holding dictaphone cylinders from the Carpenterr Collection. You
can click on my JPG from my home page, near the bottom.
Where can one find out what's been done so far on the Carpenter
Collection? I listened to a copy of a copy of one of the Carpenter
collection recordings once at the Library of Congress, but couldn't
understand much of it.
