Oops. Thanks for the correction! I think OBEs can be quite meaningful
outside Britain. I believe my favourite author ever, Jorge-Luis Borges,
owned one (such medal & title). I know he was a KBE (I think), but maybe an
OBE too. How could I find that out? (My copy of the bio of him by J.
Woodall is downstairs... )...
