Thanks for all the feedback, we had the local Otto Bock dealer in
yesterday to demonstrate the Eco buggy. It certainly looks a much
sturdier buggy than the Major 2000, however : -
1. The seat length is 2" longer even in the shortest configuration (we
find that even with the major 2000 we occasionally need to reduce the
seat length or supply a back cushion). We were told an insert was
available (from another supplier?) to overcome this problem but this
incurs an additional cost of £200.00 - £250.00.
2. It is double the cost of the Major 2000, although it's longevity
could prove it to be more cost effective !
3. It only has a lap strap as standard compared with the Major 2000's
5-point
harness, a 5-point harness is available as an option for an additional
£75.00.
4. The locking bar under the seat canvas could be felt (under hand
pressure), I wondered if this has become an issue for anyone bearing in
mind this would become more prominent as the canvas sagged after use?
The dealers have taken our comments, plus the one raised by Mike Hare
regarding the lack of readily available spares, back to the
manufacturer's.
