'Made in Suffolk' - an A2A project
PROJECT ARCHIVIST
£19,155 p.a. (15 month contract)
Suffolk County Council Libraries and Heritage has received financial support
from the Heritage Lottery Fund for a cross-domain project on the theme of
'Made in Suffolk'. The project seeks to maximise access to the records of
business, trade and industry in Suffolk through cataloguing 16 collections
of business archives held in the Suffolk Record Office and in two local
museums.
We therefore wish to appoint a Project Archivist to undertake this work.
The successful candidate will have a professional qualification in archive
administration, a clear understanding of the relevant cataloguing standards,
experience of automated cataloguing systems (preferably CALM 2000) and good
time-management skills. Experience of working on similar projects will be
an advantage.
Hours are 37 per week. Cataloguing will be carried out at the Ipswich
Record Office and on-site at the museums. For an informal discussion please
contact Gwyn Thomas on 01284 352350.
