Subject: Museums, Archives and Libraries invited to register on
Curriculum Online
Dear all,
Resource is very pleased to have ensured that public libraries,
registered museums and publicly funded archives are to have every
opportunity to register for Curriculum Online.
With the agreement of DfES, BECTa will check the application by any
public library, registered museum, or publicly-funded archive against a
list supplied to BECTa by Resource. If they appear on the list, they
will have passed the due diligence checks being conducted by BECTa.
Further details about registration appear below, and you can contact
BECTa for advice and support.
This opportunity also applies to all DCMS-funded Non-Departmental Public
Bodies, such as national museums. If your organisation is not one of
those listed above, you still are encouraged to apply to register your
materials on Curriculum Online, which is set to give teachers easy
online access to a wide range of digital learning materials, which they
can use to support their teaching across the curriculum. These materials
will form a consistent, coherent and comprehensive educational service
for teachers and pupils. These materials will help free teachers to do
what they do best - teach - by making lesson planning and administration
easier and faster, and will help teachers make a reality of
individualised learning for all pupils.
The benefit of registering on Curriculum Online is that it will
encourage the use of your website by pupils and teachers, as has been
shown by existing initatives such as the NGfL..
I hope that you will register as soon as possible.
