I just wanted to draw to your attention the position of HLF Deputy Director
(Policy and Research) £48,600-£54,000 advertised in the Guardian last
Wednesday 21st August. Reporting to the Director of Policy and Research this
is a key member of senior staff able to work under pressure, contribute
quickly and imaginatively and provide high level strategic/policy advice
across a wide range of issues relating to the heritage, within the broader
political, social and economic context.
Heading the heritage sectors team, the successful candidate will advise
Trustees and staff, manage research and evaluation of HLF's projects and
activities, be actively involved in the advocacy of the heritage to outside
bodies and in planning the cross distributor work.
Forging links with a wide range of external bodies will be essential, as
will high level communication skills, plus the intellectual rigour necessary
to deliver authoritative research projects. Candidates should be able to
demonstrate a broad range of relevant experience at a senior level, which
would preferably include work within the museums and galleries sector, plus
understanding and knowledge of the historic environment.
This post will be based at HLF's offices in central London with regular UK
travel.
