I'd find out if btinternet allow you to set up mail filters. Our ISP has
such a service and we have set up filters to consign a lot of junk to a
black hole. You may have to amend these from time to time but its worth the
effoft. Using the dma and other such services relies on spammers
subscribing and taking note of opt out lists. Some hope.
One other method I use is to place a false e-mail address in meta data tags
in web pages. Something along the lines of
[log in to unmask] stops some by sending spam to a mailbox
I never look at on a regular basis. Any human wishing to contact me will
remove the "deletethisbit" part of the address. Beats the bots but I'm sure
they will get round this eventually.
Mind you if some of the promises spammers come up were true I wouldn't be
sat here writing this; I'd be rich beyond my dreams :)(Cf the mails from
Nigeria)
