The House of Lords has an interesting short-term vacancy for up to 3 months
assisting staff in one of its key offices to establish new filing
arrangements. The post-holder, who will work under the direction of the
staff of the office and under the guidance of the Records Manager, will
assist in:
* a survey of the filing systems of the office
* appraisal of records, making recommendations as to which records
should be destroyed or preserved permanently
* implementing the new Classification Scheme for Parliamentary Records
He/she will also provide general file administration support to the staff of
the office.
The post, which is offered as a temporary part-time appointment on a casual
contract can be filled at a professional level by a qualified archivist or
records manager, but would also be suitable for those seeking pre-course
experience.
Salary will depend on qualifications and experience,and hours are
negotiable.
