There are 2 or 3 places available for the first workshop of a new ESF
programme "Towards Electronic Democracy". The broad objective of the
programme is
to develop on-line support systems for rational decision making in complex
issues, with a view to making "electronic democracy" a viable idea.
The first workshop is called "TED - Setting Directions". It will be held on
Friday 25th and Saturday 26th October in Trinity College Dublin. There are
about 20 people attending, with 6 general talks on our interests in TED
from both decision sciences, computer science and political science. The
goal, as the first workshop, is to give the programme a much better idea of
the different issues in complex decision making and more generally in
electronic democracy, and to foster links between the various communities
with an interest in the area.
Funding is available to cover costs. For more details of the talks and who
