RESEARCH ASSOCIATE IN BIOSTATISTICS (RA1A)
STATISTICAL PREDICTION OF THE FUNCTIONAL CONSEQUENCES OF
SINGLE NUCLEOTIDE POLYMORPHISMS
This Wellcome Trust-funded project involves the development of statistical
models to predict the effect of genetic variants on protein structure and
function and the application of these models in genetic epidemiology and
pharmacogenetics. You will need a relevant PhD or equivalent experience
and good computational skills. Previous experience in genetics is not
required, although a keen interest in understanding the genetical
processes underlying the statistical modelling is essential. The successful
applicant will join a lively research group with an international reputation
in
Biostatistics and Bioinformatics/Statistical Genetics. The appointment will
be for three years, with a probationary review at six months.
Starting salary will be at Point 7 of the RA1A Scale, £20,470 plus £3,965
Wellcome Trust enhancement and £2,134 London Allowance per annum.
