Three PhD studentships, funded by NERC, are available at Lancaster under
the
supervision of Prof. Keith Beven, Prof. Jonathan Tawn, Dr Janet
Heffernnan
and Prof. Gareth Roberts. The studentships will contribute to a NERC
Long
Term Funding project on Uncertainty in Environmental Modelling.
If you have any students who might be interested,
further details of the possible projects are available at the
following Web address
http://www.es.lancs.ac.uk/posts/postgrad/phdposts.htmand
NERC will normally pay both fees and subsistence to UK students, but
fees only to EU students. The projects are:
Likelihood measures for environmental modelling
(Prof. Keith Beven, Prof. Jonathan Tawn, Dr J. Heffernan)
Hypothesis testing and data assimilation in landscape to model space
mapping
(Prof. Keith Beven)
Improving the efficiency of model space search in identifying
behavioural
models (Prof. Keith Beven, Prof. Gareth Roberts)
