The EPA www.epa.ie has announced two data oriented post doc positions in
Ireland.
Formally they are described as "Data management, integration and archive
project to support and advance ongoing research work in Climate Change in
Ireland". It seems that statistical modelling will NOT be a very large part
of the project, and that broad skills in IS data management will be rather
more important.
It is envisaged that applicants will make proposals 'in conjunction with a
host university/ research institute'.
This is a chicken and egg thing, as the proposal will be at least partly
designed around the applicant's skills. We would be interested to hear -
very soon, the closing date is 8th March !! - from people who might be
interested in writing such a proposal in conjunction with researchers in
Trinity, perhaps jointly with other institutions.
Details on salary etc will be part of the proposal.
