We have very similar procedures to your own in place for exam paper
production. If a paper is submitted very late, we require the dept in
question to provide the necessary number of copies and deliver them to the
exams office in person.

Subject: Examination papers
At Nottingham, examination papers are copied in-house, in a Photocopying
Unit adjacent to the Examinations Office. The close location means that
security arrangements are excellent. In the run-up to exam periods
examination papers are given priority over other work and copying can be
done at very short notice. Examination papers once copied are stored in a
secure store in the Examinations Office and are packed and labelled to be
distributed to invigilators on the day of the examination.
There is unfortunately a possiblity that the photocopying facility might not
be available to the Examinations Office in the future so we are beginning to
look at other alternatives. I would be very grateful if you could answer
the following in relation to your institution:
1) Where are your examination papers copied?
2) What are the security arrangements?
3) How do you deal with copying that is required at very short notice, eg
because a paper has been submitted very late?
4) What is the procedure after the examinations have been copied, eg packing
procedure?
Many thanks in advance for responses.
Regards
Lucy
